Time to travel again

HI. You may have wondered where I went or what happened to me since I stopped blogging?
Well, answer is simple; I got cought up by work and frankly - not all days have been exiting enough to blog about.

What has happened since last I blogged? Quite some news actually.
Ill probably bore you all with all the facts and the details so Ill just spare you for them :D

However YES there finally is something to blog about.

I am on the lookout for a flat for myself and my lovely little furred creature (the cat, people, the cat!!! silly dirty minded readers!!! I know you thought about something else) hoping to be able to move during fall season.

However the buying flat project will now be set on hold for a while, 2 months in fact, unless I can get someone else to go look at the flat for me and bid unseen. Im likely to do that too :D
The two months break. Yeah I know. Not all of you know about this but most do.

IM LEAVING !! YAY :D Travelling awaits me. Ill spend my vacation in Arizona and California this year. Now you are thinking; 2 monhts? darn.. Norway is a good country to live in if they give you 2 months of vacation!
Its not as fantastic as it sounds like. Its actually not fantastic at all. Norway does get 25 days of holiday each year and compared to lots of other countries that is fantastic. Im only going to spend about 15 of these holiday days while on this travel. So this leaves you with a question. 2 months travel - 15 days holiday. It doesnt add up. And dont worry you dont suck in math... I dont either for that sake..
Im going to spend 4,5 of the weeks of my travel working so mystery solved. :D

First part of the travel - Im flying in to Arizona tomorrow night (Arizona time) and Ill stay in Phoenix for 1 week. Ill be spending this time with my friend Amanda and hanging out with her while working daytime. We will find something nice to do for the weekend.

Next stop is going to be Tucson, Arizona where Ill visit Denise. A nice couchsurfer that takes me in for the week so that I can work from Aker Metals office in Tucson, Arizona.
WE will be spent in Los Angele, CA then back to Arizona and holiday begins :D YAY

Im spending one more week with Amanda and ending up at the awesome Wigwam Resort hotel.
im sooo exited. YAY
Arizona wont disappoint - How can it when its hot AND sunny? I mean.. Thats enough to rock anyones world :D

On June 22nd Ill fly over to Los Angeles (again) but this time Ill stay there :D
Ill meet up with Alexandra, Marco and possibly Steve for the next week and july 2nd Ill travel down to San Diego to stay with Carissa and her parents.
11-19 July Im planning to visit Dionne and family in Norco before Im ending up in LA with Marco to fly home on 21 july.

Sounds great huh? I know. So mixing business and pleasures ... it rocks.
And I thank the Gods for being in such a lucky postition to be able to travel, to be allowed to travel and to have a boss that lets me work from home. I appreciate all of this higher than you can imagine!!

As for the preparations, Im almost done packing so Im planning to go to the movies tonight with Jorunn S and see Precious. I know its long since released both in US and Norway but I didnt get myself down there yet and its probably soon going to be taken off the program :D
Cat was delivered safely with Jorunn E and Atle at Viubråtan. It gets rougher and rougher to leave him though. I love that little creature :D

So people, Im ready, ready for adventure and new experiences and old and new friends.
Im ready to eat rattle snake meat and get fried under the sun of Arizona and Im ready to fly.
(No, I did not smoke my socks last night)

Ciao for today. Ill update you soon again :D

New York, New York

Ok Im not in the actual city of New York, it just sounded good. Im at the Newark airport EWR. Im just bragging. Hihihi. I know peeps at home. Eurovision song Contest is on tonight, but.. sorry. much more action here:

However since last I blogged I have managed to comply with quite a few tasks.

I first spent an hour after the last blog post to pack. However when leaving for 7,5 weeks theres quite a few things that need to go with you so it takes time :D At 5ish I left for an apartment showing. It was a great flat and Im gonna bid for it, but Im probably gonna get screwed over by some other OBOS member with longer seniority than myself again. Directly from that I went to the city to meet Jorunn S to see Precious at the movies.
Amazing movie (but also, it didnt win all those awards for nothing!), but its a hard movie to watch as its impossible to remain untouched watching Precious being abused by her parents in numerous ways: Strong, but painfully honest and fantastic movie.
See trailer here.

After the movie Jorunn and me went for a stroll at Aker Brygge, but it was way chilly to stay outside so we escaped to a Burger King restaurant for a drink and talks.

When I got home around 11 I had to continue packing and after my first suitcase weighing I had 33 kgs of stuff in the suitcase, ergo, some serious overweight issues for that suitcase. I had to take it on a hefty diet. Worked well, about 30 minutes later I had slimmed it about 7 kgs, which is still not enough but its a great start. At 1:30 AM I had to go to bed as I was overdue on nappy time :D

Unfortunately I woke up a bit too early this morning, but as each time Im going on a long travel and need to catch a plane I sleep lighter than normal hence wake up earlier as well.
I did some more repacking and managed to get the suitcase down to 23,3 kgs which is doable (Continenetal limits are 23 pr suitcase). For the rest of the stuff I fought heavily to get it all into the hand luggage which results in that one weighing 25 kgs now, but as long as they dont weigh hand luggage Im saved :D

The folks that owns the flat I went to look at yesterday told me there is an airport bus stop right next to the trainstation I use every day for work (as the flat is right next to the trainstation too) however I never knew about it so today I had to try that one.

I was at the airport in good time and well prepared for all the security questions Continental employees always keep asking. All documents neatly saved, printed and sorted in a nice travel folder. No problemo!
During the flight I managed to watch 2 other movies I had wanted to see for a while along with one I already had seen plus start reading the fourth book of one of my new book addictions, Vampire Academy - Blood Promise.

Movies:

Up in the Air
Cute film about how the eternal bachelor realizes that life alone is not so funny after all :D

Phantom of the opera
HA! with Gerard Butler !! ME LIKE :D

which of course reminds me of the Nightwish version

Shutter Island
This movie had me incredibly impressed by Leonardo di Caprios acting. This is where he proves to me that he is an artist and not just an actor. I loved it.

and that was pretty much what i had time for during my trip to to New York. Right now Im waiting at gate 107 where my next flight to Phoenix is leaving from in 45 minutes.
Will blog again tonight (before Ill go to bed) to let you know that I arriced in Phoenix safe and sound.

Catch you later.

Phoenix, Phoenix, Phoenix

YAY. Im here!!!
The New York - Phoenix flight occured pretty uneventful. I almost finished my book (Blood Promise - Rachelle Mead) as there was pay per view TV. Time flew and im thankful this flight was only 4,5 hours.
It was great seeing Amanda again and we went around to run some errands and get me PAPAYA. Ive been craving for that the whole day. So we ended up with at least 3 kgs of that pluss watermelon. Yummy. I cant wait for breakfast in the morning :D

Right now watching LA Story while Amanda is finishing up some cleaning in the kitchen :D
Soon bedtime :D Must say Im exhausted after being on the road for 24 hours.

Oh Joy, SUN and swimming pool.

sunny.gif Today we probably had +37C, but the air humidity has been very low so the temperature does not feel bad at all. Right now at night time we are at +33C and its fantastic. Not a cloud to be seen at all.

First time I woke up this morning was 4:25am and I read some, checked my emails and organized my suitcase. I mean sort all the stuff so i can easily find back to it without necessarily making too much mess in Amandas apartment. Amanda came out to check on me as she woke up and we spoke for a while before we both went back to bed. I slept until 9:30 and while still tired I decided that it was time to get up so I read some in my book and had papaya for breakfast. A huge Papaya :D !!! Well it was so huge I wasnt even able to eat the whole fruit by myself.. I only had half of it :D I love real papayas instead of the jokes they call papaya back home.
ChiliBeer.jpg As I was preparing this Amanda woke up and we spent a few hours relaxing indoors before we went to the pool.

It was sooo great, warm and nice. Talking, swimming, tanning, enjoying the sun and reading. I finished "Blood Promise" (Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead) and now have to get the next one in the series. Talking about vampires, Im in her city, my fav writer for the moment; Stephenie Meyer! Thats pretty amazing. Too bad I cant find any signs of her doing book signings or similar. That would rock too much to be able to meet Stephenie.

For dinner Amanda cooked Buffalo Burgers for me, so I have officially tried Buffalo meat for the first time! It was delicious! Totally delicious. I also got to taste a Chili Beer. The Chili Beer had a fantastic hot taste. Far from too hot, not too mild, but perfect. It was a total star! I loved it.
After dinner we watched a TV show on the comedian Dane Cook: It was hilarious!

Here an example on his humour:

We also watched a program about El Bulli that makes amazing, fascinating food. Expensive but you get served about 32 dishes in one night and amazing dishes too :D I would totally go there. Location Spain. Note to self; look into booking table for next year :D

Good morning, good day, good evening & good night..

Mexican Ranch Market

sunny.gif Today we probably had +37C, but the air humidity is down to 10% so its very comfortable. Not a cloud in sight.

I woke up 4:15 to finish off my workday in good time to enjoy my day other than inside in a flat working.
I had papaya and yoghurt for breakfast. I love the yoghurts they have in the states. Banana cream pie, white chocolate/strawberry, apple turnover and so on .. Quite enjoyable.
At 12:30 I went to the pool where I spent a good 4 hours reading, swimming and enjoying the sun. I am using a good sunblock, however I got a tiny sunburn on my back, just in the area where its really difficult to apply tanning lotion on yourself between the shoulders. Well.. who cares. Its not a bad sunburn but Ill spend tomorrow not allowing the back to be in the sun.

When I got in from the sun Amanda and I watched Valentines day :

Phoenix%20Ranch%20Market.jpg
For dinner Amanda took me to the Phoenix Mexican Ranch Market. That was sooo awesome. The cutest pastries and bakeware. Whatever you could wish for, The coolest potatochips. Green chile flavoured tortilla chips. Whatever frijoles you may like, Tons of Tortillas and such likes. Snacks and the famous Chili beer that I spoke of yesterday :D
JaniceVega_RanchMarket.jpg They also had a restaurant there and thats where we had our birria de res and taco plate for dinner.
To accompany our hot mexican dinners, we had natural fruit juices. My favourites. I had papaya (like that was a huge shock to people) and Amanda watermelon juice.

On our way home Amanda took me for a drive around the city. Its a beautiful city but Im amazed as there are hardly any skyscrapers in Phoenix at all. Of course - dont think that there are none at all. Of course there are some really high buildings, just not as many as one is used to seeing in other cities around the world. :D

Night time came early. not sleeping much during my travel and then going to bed late and getting up early is not exactly the best medisin to get enough sleep :D

Welcome to my blog and page. Enjoy !
