Jenn and Anze came visiting from Lithuania !

cloudy.gifTwas a cloudy day with around 0 degrees and snow in the air.

This weekend I had visits from Lithuania that was really, really great. Jenn has even been at my place before (in april) although Angie has also been to Norway before but I had not had the pleasure of meeting her before. From they came till they left we had an awesome time and lots of fun. They arrived at night on friday and we made dinner before we had some drinks in the couch and enjoyed great conversations and did some catching up from last time. :D

On saturday the girls went to the city centre to do touristing and I did a shopping trip to Smart Club, Alna senteret and IKEA to look for christmas gifts. I got several of the done and feel a lot better. When the girls came home again we made dinner, had a pre party and prepared for going out :D We had plans to go to Daniels house for a pre-party there and the only thing I regret was that we arrived so late. The place was packed, completely and so many cool people :D We had an awesome time. I had even brought a home made chocolate cake that was finished in only an hour. They liked it yeah :D I met several new people that was great to meet and it was lots of fun to meet up with people again. I have spent two weeks at home due to my cold so it was great to see people again.
Jenn wanted to have a Manhattan so we left the party at Daniels house around 1am and went to Cafe Sor in Torggata where we had a Manhattan. It was great to be out again and we were kind of exhausted when we got the nightbus home :D Jenn half fell asleep a couple of times on the bus as well. It was great to be home and find the bed !!! :D

Sunday was a quite lazy day. So good to have some of those as well. Jenn and Angie also talked me into buying a ticket to Lithuania (Vilnius) first weekend in Febuary. They were really persistent :D So persistent that they found me the ticket - really cheap airfare - and manily forced me to buy it :D I think its gonna be great though !!!

When they left I started chatting with Flavio and we kept it going till the Member Dispute meeting on skype with the other team members. The meeting lasted for 2,5 hours and it was our first so it was great to get to know the other team-members and talk with them. After this Fla and I continued speaking for some hours before going to bed.

CS meeting November

sunny.gifIts a beautiful and particularly sunny, but cold day over Oslo today. At mid day we had +4C. The sunlight is so beautiful.

Waking up at 4 am this morning just because I couldnt sleep more I didnt get much sleep last night either. I did manage to go to bed 11:30 pm but what does that help when you dont fall asleep until 30 minutes past midnight and wake up that early? Oh well. Still in a fantastic mood.

To reflect that I have posted these lyrics of the song La Cura by Franco Battiato - Ive been listening to it quite a few times today :D Mainly all day :D

La Cura di Franco Battiato

Welcome to my blog and page. Enjoy !

Ti proteggero dalle paure delle ipocondrie,
dai turbamenti che da oggi incontrerai per la tua via.
Dalle ingiustizie e dagli inganni del tuo tempo,
dai fallimenti che per tua natura normalmente attirerai.
Ti sollevero dai dolori e dai tuoi sbalzi d umore,
dalle ossessioni delle tue manie.
Superero le correnti gravitazionali,
lo spazio e la luce
per non farti invecchiare.
E guarirai da tutte le malattie,
perche sei un essere speciale,
ed io, avro cura di te.

Vagavo per i campi del Tennessee
(come vi ero arrivato, chissa).
Non hai fiori bianchi per me?
Piu veloci di aquile i miei sogni
attraversano il mare.

Ti portero soprattutto il silenzio e la pazienza.
Percorreremo assieme le vie che portano all essenza.
I profumi d amore inebrieranno i nostri corpi,

I will protect u fear and hypochondrias
From agitations that you from this day will find in your life
From injustices and deceptions of your time
From failures that your nature usually attracts
I will ease you from pains and from your humour changes
from obsessions, from your manias
I'll overcome gravitational streams,
space and light,
so that you wont grow old
And I will heal you from all diseases
Because you're a special being
And I, I will take care of you

I wandered on the grounds of Tennessee
How I got here, I do not know
Do you have white flowers for me?
faster than eagles my dreams
cross the sea

I will bring you above all silence and patience
Together we will walk ways that lead to the essence
The scents of love will inebriate our bodies
The calm of august will not relax our senses.
I will weave your hair as parts of a song
I know the laws of the world, and I will give u a gift
I will overpass gravitational streams,
space and light, not to let you grow old
I will heal you from all diseases
because you're a special being, and I, I will take care of you
Yes I, I will take care of you

After work I met Linda and that was great as usual. We chatted for a long time and had dinner before we split as I had to be at Asylet at 6pm for the CS Monthly meeting of November. It was great as usual. We had lots and lots of new people this time and that was great. Its a great pleasure to see that we can have such a varied group of new and known people, of different cultures etc. It is completely fantastic to see the diversity of a group like ours and joyful to meet people that would never have become my friends if it was not for CS.
When I got home I chatted a bit with Flavio and then managed to get in bed relatively early (midnight).

Selling honey at Astrup Fearnleys

snow_6.gifWet snow / rain and temps around 0 is the bad news of the day.

This morning was a crappy morning with lots of stress. Simply because I brought with me about 20 kgs of honey that with the glasses weighs about 30 kgs, it was slippery to walk and the train was cancelled. Due to a electricity problem a fire had started in the tunnel btwn Oslo central station and the National Theater in some of the electricity cables. This caused absolutely all train traffic in this part of the country to stop and I had to take first a bus to Grorud, then the metro to the city, then change bus twice to get to work. I guess Ill double check tomorrow if the trains started again or if I should take a smarter route.

As soon as I got to work I was completely exhausted and due to the heavy weight both strops on my rucksack with honey had been torn to pieces from the weight. Well, during the day things got way better and I stopped by my old job to sell all this honey (pre-orders). It was so nice to catch up with people that lots of us ended up going out for beer. Great since I knew most of them during many years!!! It was fantastic to catch up with Simon as well and for a few moments there I had some flashbacks and really missed working with that group again. I actually do miss them a lot, but how can you manage to not miss nice people I have worked with for 5 years ?? And being that great.

Evening turned out fantastic as soon as I was rid of all the honey !!!

Great news! - My contract is renewed for another year

snow_6.gifGrey weather, snow and 0C. Well, at least it snowed. Way better than rain.

Got in late for work today as well. Well, not late. Im supposed to be there btwn 7 and 9 so I was in time before 9 but late considering then I cant leave until 5. Had a quite busy morning with phone meetings at work and got loads done. Was great.

I forgot to have my lunch break since Louise came over and we talked for a while. I also got the great news that my contract for work at Aker Kvaerner is being renewed for 1 year!!!!

Louise was leaving early and offered me a ride in to Oslo city centre. Most of my collegues went for a meeting anyways so I reaconed I could just do the last 3 hours from home today to celebrate my contact was renewed. Louise dropped me off at majorstua and I walked slowly down Bogstadveien to do some window shopping and found one more christmas gift.

John called and we ended up meeting at the pub 3 broedre (3 brothers) where we had some beers before we went to have dinner. We left at 9:40, pretty tipsy and split at the central station. I watched TV for an hour before going to bed. :D
GREAT DAY
