This morning I had quite a great idea....

rain.gifWe've had lots of rain this last week.At least it seemed pretty good at the time. Throughout the day I have regretted it several times already.

You see. I got up at 6 to be at a meeting at work at 7:30, planning to be in at the office at 7:15 to prepare. To do that I had to take the 6:40 train and I was running a little late out from my house and decided to take the bike to the train station. Until now everything was actually a good idea. Then arriving the trainstation I felt this sudden urge to be in touch with nature and decided. Hey.. I have enough time to make it there still. Ill bike all the way to work.
In the beginning it was great. I listened to music at my ipod (now named iJames - dont ask me why. No idea - except from this real cute actor from Men in trees), was in touch with nature and traffic and weather was not so bad. It took me about 45 minutes to reach the city (13 km) and the first drops of rain surprised me since this was totally unplanned when I left from my house. Cycling through the city rain never stopped and just outside it started raining rivers and lakes for the next 20 minutes. I looked like a drowned cat. Some sight.
Luckily for me I had an extra sweater and t-shirt at work and a blanket. Everything was wet. My trousers didnt dry up until 2pm (considering that I arrived work at 7:45am thats a LONG time).

We've had quite some weeks of rain lately. Mostly rain pooring down. Although we have seen the sun a couple of times. Not one day has been sunny all day though. Just some glimpses in the afternoon or even better .... during work hours... so we dont even see the sun.

Anyways. The rest of the day was relax and enjoying life. I watched a couple of movies as well.

CS monthly meeting exceeds all expected numbers of visitors

partlycloudy.gifWe've had lots of rain this last week and Im really not so happy about it.

After work I walked all the way in to Oslo city again. It was beautiful sunny weather with some clouds when I started walking but the closer I got to the city the darker the clouds were. I actually made it till National theater metro station, entered and the dark clouds just bursted into tears and exploded them all over Oslo when I got off the metro at Grønland 5 minutes later. I managed to get wet during the 50 meter run from the metro station to Asylet and there I met up with the other couchsurfers.

I have made an effort in actually inviting so many of the nearby travellers that I was overwhelmed but the amount of people showing up. It was a fantastic Couchsurfing meeting !! More than 50 people showed up all in all. They did not all stay all the time but it was so amazing that so many people came !

I found a new surfer to bring home too, Sam from Australia. He started talking around 9 pm about having to leave cause his last boat would leave to the island.. I started asking him what Island and it shows the dude is sleeping in a tent in this horrible weather so I took him home and fed him and made him a bed on the couch.

But first things first ... We actually revieved a huge amount of surfers right from the start for this meeting and the amazing thing was about how many nearby travellers that had shown up. July IS THE vacation month in Norway so I shouldnt be surprised but I still was.
The thing is that although people came, went and more came to it more than 50 must have shown up and that even considering that most of the locals were travelling. Cant wait till next meeting. Lots of people noticed us having lots of fun and joined in. As the hours passed some of them got a bit sleezy as the same guy was trying to pick up girl after girl with no luck and all the others saw him hit on the girl next to him. I think there was some alcohol involved !!! Hehehe. Loooooser.
Apart from that the night was a huge success and I cant wait till next time !!!!

Welcome to my blog and page. Enjoy !
