Labour day and mamas birthday

sunny.gif+20C today. Fantastic sunny weather and no wind. Great day. Almost as being back in Costa Rica (OK, Im not gonna start lying).

area721.jpgI woke up early and I pretty much spent the day relaxing in the sun, tanning in the garden. It was great to be able to just sit outside and read a good book in the sun. I read a book about Costa Ricas highest mountain, Chirripo, witch I one day will climb. That is why I have been walking so much lately. Because I have to get into shape to be able to do this. Chirripo is as I told you Costa Ricas highest mountain and Cloud forest, above 2,500 meters, covers almost half the park, which features three distinct life zones; the park is topped off by subalpine rainy paramo, marked by contorted dwarf trees and marshy grasses that dry out on the Pacific slopes January-May.

I have a couple of Costa Rican friends that wants me to go so now I will have to take their word for it and get ready. Hehe. I have to prepare long time ahead though.

When I was done with that book I continued reading monkeys are made of chocolate, the chapter: And the cards came thumbling down. After that I got bored with sitting still doing nothing and went for a long bicyckle ride around Lillomarka from my house up the hills to Grorud, then entering the forest passing Steinbruvann to Lilloseter and then continuing down to Ammerud, Grorud and back home.
That felt great !!

In the night I also joined Facebook and did some web page updating. Wee. A productive day.

Running into my past

partlycloudy.gifAnother beautiful day with +18C and sunny weather

Work was good. My collegues and I enjoyed the wonderful weather for the lunch break. They are really great people. And it is inspiring that they work as hard as they do !

Today I had decided to walk to the city again after work.
It was obviously the day of running into my past as I almost litterally walked into my ex-bf that I had not seen in 8 years. It is kinda fun to think of we are living in a not-so-big city for 8 years and not running into eachother.
He works just in one of the neighbour buildings from where John works.
Although I didnt speak for long with him I started remembering people from that long ago that I have had no news of for years. And not only that but remembering lots of fun stuff (and not so fun) on my walk in to the city.

I had decided to walk to the city and then when I got there I decided to continue since I would have to wait 20 min for the train if I didnt. I walked through the city and towards my part of the city, but after walking for 2 hours and 45 minutes I had reached SmartClub at Alnabru and decided that 16km of walking was enough for the day and hopped on a bus for the last 7,5 kms.
I was pretty much dead beat when I got home. Hehe.

Great new sunny day

partlycloudy.gifStill wonderful sunny weather but temps down to +16 today. And cold wind is blowing.

Today I enjoyed the wonderful weather during lunchtime down at Lysaker Brygge at one of the restaurants there. Great pasta.
For the rest of the day I was very tired because of all the pollen flying around in the air. I went home by train today so that I could have time to clean up ap. a bit before Klemens from Austria (Couchsurfing) came to sleep over before going back to his country after 3 months working on a farm in northern norway. He got lost from my road descriptions but I walked out and searched him up. That way he got in finally.
He was an easy guest to host.

Chocolate conspiracy, Concerts in the city and new personal record.

partlycloudy.gif+15C and gorgeous sun. A few scattered clouds and some wind.

I finished up the monkeys are made of chocolate book today by reading its two last chapters; The pizote and the Lion and Strange things are happening in the tree tops. It has been great reading. Fantastic. I would definately recommend you to click in to read the book as well.

The chocolate machine conspiracy.
The chocolate machine at work is actually working against me! It is strange to notice. But I have tried it out several times all in all now and EVERY F***ING time I try to buy something it rejects my money. Today I put on a 20 but after like 10 different tryouts I gave up.
Same thing happened yesterday. I tried it for several times and nothing. The machine just kept on spitting my money out UNTIL I got smart (or whatever regarding my diet it was no good idea). I got someone else to put on the money and what do you think happened? IT ACCEPTED the SAME coin I had tried putting on about 20 times already.
Worst of all is that the machine has actually done this to me about every time I have tried buying something from it. It is a conspiracy !! Of that I am certain.

Concerts in the park.
I soon forgot the defeat of the chocolate machine and went for the longest walk of my new life !
First I walked the 9 km from my work to Gronland where I met Jeff and some friends of his from work (Alexandra and her bf) for some beer and a concert. It was pretty good with beer after the walk and great with live music outdoors in a park. The artist was Vidar Busk - a local Norwegian - and then another artist with absolutely great music called. Tom. We had lots of laughs and I really enjoyed the evening.

It started to get late and by 9:30pm I prepared to get ready to go home. I just lost my train back home after half an hour walk SO I decided to walk the rest of the way home as well. Thats another 13 km. On top of the rest I already walked today. I have reached 50km all in all this week. Just need to keep it up.
I got home 15 minutes past midnight. I was proud but oh so tired ... The last 3km had been so hard that I was wondering to take a cab for the rest of the way. I didnt though. hehe.
Still a great achievement.

Dead beat weekend

Sunday
rain.gifStill low temps today and cold wind. Some rain and some parts just cloudy. No need to rush out of my house though.

I felt way better than Saturday but still not in great shape. I did manage to wash clothes, the kitchen and read in my new book that I got yesterday. I enjoyed spending the day in quiet.
I also started cleaning up files from my computer. Weee. What a geek. Fun sunday entertainment !!! The truth is that I have so many music files I dont even know what they all are. Better clean them up sooner than later.
I even watched some TV. Great stuff on animal planet about the rainforest.

Saturday
rain.gifTemps are down to 10C today and cold wind. Of course on top comes the rain. Great day to spend indoor. We also had some sun in the morning.

I was so tired that I spent most of the day on my couch. I actually did manage to get out and pick up a package at the post office and get some groceries, but some place the limit has to go. Hehehe. Your allowed to relax after such a walk as from yesterday. I felt SOOOO tired. I even had a fever and coughed pretty bad. I might have had just too little clothes on for night walking.

The package I picked up was a book I ordered online a couple of days earlier With the power of the jaguar or in Norwegian Med jauarens kraft. The book is about a Norwegian man that at the age of 24 went into the Amazon areas of Brazil / Peru and lived with the cat people. An indigenous tribe that was still wild for a year. His experiences are fetching and really interesting.

Pollen season and Acupuncture. Dinner at Ikea

cloudy.gifCloudy but no rain. Not bad at all. +15C degrees. When is summer gonna be here? Spring is overrated.

Pollen season is really kicking in. Im soo tired for the moment. I sleep enough but every time I am outside I feel lack of energy.
This morning it was particularly bad. It got better during the day and instead of pushing it I did not do my regular walk today. I went straight up to Kari in Train/metro and got acupuncture treatment for the allergies. Hurtfull stuff. I was, again, left with needles in my ears that will sit there till they fall off. hehe. Looks kinda weird. GRIN. Kari is great. I was the last patient of the day and she gave me a ride to IKEA thats way closer to where I live than where she works. We had dinner there and picked up a few things before splitting.
I walked home but probably should have left that part out of the plan. It was a nice walk though but sooo tired when I got home again. I stayed up for just a little while and played with Saffe - the cat - before going to bed around 10.

Vigeland park after work

partlycloudy.gif+16C points out that we are heading towards warmer times, but then again the word STEADY is not very well known in terms of weather discussions in Norway. Sun popped out several hours today.

I have not been so tired when wakeing up in ages as today. It was incredible. I had to stand (for missing out on my first train and taking one that was more traffic on) for 10 minutes and I almost fell asleep standing. Productivity was not on its highest BUT I tried as hard as I could. I had to give up my principals about not eating alergy pills during working hours as well.

Well. With the pills it got easier to live and when I got off work and headed towards the city to meet two Colombian Couchsurfers and show them around a bit. I met Daniel and David at 16:30 by the national theater and we went to the Vigeland park (Im starting to get to know this place by now. Been there like 7 times this year alone) witch they enjoyed a lot. Company was great and we had a cup of coffee/te/cocoa/beer before splitting apart and I went home. They headed to Holmenkollen. Hope they enjoyed it !

As I got home Kitty missed me and wanted to be petted so ... I wasnt hard to ask. I played with Saffi and fed the poor little animal. Hes just the best !
Then did some Internet stuff and went to bed. I Had to quit as my messenger got freaky. My guess is that theres a certain virus producer out there in the world thats not so freaking popular right now !!! Must find out how to clean up the mess.

MSN Bush.exe virus attac and Going to the movies.

partlycloudy.gifThis mornings temperaturess were lousy +8Cs and pretty much sky was covered in clouds. It does not feel like its almost summer. :( It did get better during the day though and by 5 when I got out of work it was really nice.

I just got the MSN Bush.exe virus yesterday on my computer. It spreads over MSN as a Trojan Horse. Not much information about it yet in English but I have found one in Spanish. You can translate it on one of the Internet translator pages online. To get rid of it, follow this recepy: http://www.vsantivirus.com/vb-nks.htm. Another thing that can be done is just to restore computer settings back to a couple of days before the attack and delete all temp folders, cookies etc.
Worked fine. Anyways I will definately have to re-install my computer. Its way too long since the last time.

marina.JPGWhen I got out of work I walked the way in to the city. It is a fantastic walk which I enjoy madly. The first section is only company buildings along the E18 highway. Lots of allergy develloping flowers as well. But heck. What can you do about that? The safe path for pedestrians and bicyclers is separated from the highway and is perfefctly safe. Well, during the walk I meet houndreds of people bicycling home. Some of them has a pretty wild look in their eyes while trying to beat their own or their buddys personal records from yesterdays or last weeks ride. Some of them enjoy life and smiles at me while I walk into the city and they out of it.
Then as you pass the last office building you get to Skoyen marina and it looks just great. Lots and lots of Ducks breeding their young ones and enjoying life in the sun. Before facing the marina again you have to pass the drive to Bygdoy. A really nice location where several of Oslos best museums and beaches are. The inner marina was gorgeous today. I walked without rush and looked at sevreal huge cod (fish) in the water. They were definately big enough to bring home on the dinner table (maybe except from the fact that the water looks contaminated and I dont wanna eat something from this inner area).

I met one of my best friends, Morten St, and we went to have some food and to see a movie. The movie was fantastic. It is one of the betters I have seen this year: La vida secreta de las palabras from Isabel Coixet.
10m.jpg
Movie story line
Hannah, who wears a hearing aid, is forced to go on holiday from her work. On holiday she manages to find a job as a nurse: caring for Josef, a burn victim on an oil rig who temporarily lost his sight, until he's stable enough to be transferred. There is almost no one left on the rig after the accident, except a cook, an oceanographer and a few others out at sea. Hannah tends to Josef and he slowly breaks her shell of silence.

Quotes from the movie.
Josef: I thought um, you and I, maybe we could go away somewhere. Together. One of these days. Today. Right now. Come with me.
Hanna: No, I don't think that's going to be possible.
Josef: Why not?
Hanna: Um, because I think that if we go away to someplace together, I'm afraid that, ah, one day, maybe not today, maybe, maybe not tomorrow either, but one day suddenly, I may begin to cry and cry so very much that nothing or nobody can stop me and the tears will fill the room and I won't be able to breath and I will pull you down with me and we'll both drown.
Josef: I'll learn how to swim, Hanna. I swear, I'll learn how to swim.

Another movie from Isabel Coixet I will deeply recommend is: My Life without Me.

I got home at 22:30 and cleaned up my computer before I got to bed.

International move for health day

partlycloudy.gifNice sunny weather. Some clouds. No higher temperatures than +18C yet. But we are getting there. New courage today.

moveforhealth1.jpgToday is the international move for health day. I did not know such thing existed until I read about it on my works intranet today. I definately had to walk in to the city and I even managed up to Vaalerenga / Ensjo before I called it a day. I do have to improve my health at least. :)

I have had some breakthroughs a work as well. Finally. I have been stumbling in blind for a long time but its getting better. I was happy to find out that. Weee.

I stopped at Furuset to pick up some groceries and that was about time. Kitty was happy to have mama home and was very pleased to be petted and hugged. He is just adorable.
I went to bed early after doing some chatting and TV watching.
At 10pm there is still lots of daylight. This is the most fantastic part of living in one of the northern parts of the world. 18-20 hours of daylight in the summer etc. Fantastic.

TGiF again - Planning meeting at Jeff and Mimis house for may 17.

partlycloudy.gif+20C and beautiful sunny weather. Some clouds but nothing that ruined the day.

Actually it was fantastic when I left work to walk in to the city with Myriam. I got off at 4 and she met me at Lysaker station. We walked the lovely path in to the city along the shoreside to our right and the highway to the right. Now, it may seem quite noisy to walk next to the highway but it is actually a bit screened off from it with walls etc. We had a quite nice walk and ended up at Myriam and Jeffs place for dinner and a planning party for may 17. It was the 3 of us and Etienne and 2 latvian couchsurfers that Jeff and Mimi are hosting for the weekend.
Lots of fun and of course we need a new planning meeting :) This one soon ended up in lots and lots of fun and we forgot about the planning.

Weekend finally

sunday
partlycloudy.gifIt rained a bit today as well but it clared up fantastically. Still cold as well. +10C. Brrrr.

I did as little as possible. I was outside a bit but not much to brag about. Way to cold. And I was tired.

saturday
rain.gifRain poored down, we had around +10C and lots of wind.

I spent the full day inside today. I was pretty tired and the rainy day didnt help. It was wonderful to just relax inside as well. Did some housekeeping and laundry before watching the Eurovision songcontest. It was actually not that good at all and I soon switched to another channel that showed Tacones lejanos with Miguel Bose that happens to be one of my favourite artists. He is amazing.

Welcome to my blog and page. Enjoy !
